Welcome to The Castle of the Hybrid Goomba (TCHG)! Here you will find information on Nintendo systems and games.
You'll also find some fun things to do, cool things to download, and lots of information. You'll probably find some
screenshots and some gameplay videos also. Just stop and explore the site!
As promised, I am going to review the list that I posted yesterday.
NES: I never owned a NES, so I really didn't know which games were best suited to win, but the entire Zelda series has been a success, so The Legend Of Zelda would have been my pick as well.
Game Boy(Color): There were so many memorable games on this system, so honestly Pokémon and the Zelda games were well suited for the top 6. Frankly, I was kind of disappointed that Tetris made it to the #1 spot, but Tetris is a pretty awesome game overall anyway.
Virtual Boy: Well, most people have never even used a Virtual Boy before, so I really had no preference for this one.
SNES: A Link to the Past truly deserved the number 1 spot. It was definitely one of the greatest games for the system, and is also one of the greatest games of all time. Don't get me wrong- other games on the SNES, like Super Mario World and Super Metroid were great as well.
Nintendo 64: Well, I honestly think that if Ocarina of Time had not been chosen for number one, countless Zelda fans probably would have attacked the Nintendo Power Headquarters(=P). However, I was disappointed that Super Smash Bros. wasn't ranked higher than a low #15...
Game Boy Advance: The GBA was a cool system overall, with lots of great games on it. Three things I would have done differently though- I would have ranked The Minish Cap a little higher, and I would have put Pokemon Leafgreen/Firered and Pokemon Emerald on the list, and put Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire up higher as well.
Nintendo GameCube: Wow... In my opinion, they really should have put The Wind Waker in the number one spot, and maybe their precious Resident Evil 4 a little lower(I've never played it, so I wouldn't know if it was good or not.). Everything else looked fairly good on there, but maybe Lego Star Wars, or Naruto Clash of Ninja 2?
Nintendo DS: This is the one that gets me really worked up. Seriously, Elite Beat Agents? If it really is that great of a game please let me know, because to me it really sounds like...Not a very great game. Also, Phantom Hourglass definitely needed to go much higher than #8, and Pokemon Diamond/Pearl was placed at an overly cruel #15. Now I realize that getting on the top 20 is, by itself, an awesome feat, but some of this are ranked much too low for the quality.
Nintendo Wii: The got the Wii one right though. The top 5 were probably difficult to score, and it might have been fair if they had had 5 number ones. Hopefully we'll get more great games like those in the future.
Well, that's it, and I don't have any updates today, so keep checking back at a later date for a different update!

Well, ironically, last night this month's issue of Nintendo Power arrived. Before I get to the important points of this issue, let me make a quick announcement. We have a new affiliate now, Lapras' Grotto! It is a Pokémon fan-site, so it will be especially appreciated by Pokémon fans. Don't get me wrong, it has lots of other cool content as well. Now onto the Nintendo Power news...
As you may or may not know, this month's issue was celebrating Nintendo Power's 20th anniversary. To accomodate that, they included a list of the top 20 games for almost every Nintendo system released(the Virtual Boy had it's top one game =P). I'm going to post the "Best of the Best", as NP calls it, on this page. I am going to be posting my feelings on this list tomorrow, July 4th so keep watch!

Well, it's now July, so I archived all of the June updates. Hopefully my next Nintendo Power magazine will come soon- they were saying that this month's was going to be a good one, so then, maybe then, I may have something groundbreaking to write an update on. Today I also did a few small updates that you shouldn't notice, so yeah, that's today's update.
